- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 quarts filtered water
- 6 tea bags (preferably Luzianne)
- 12 cups seeded watermelon chunks
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- Fresh mint leaves (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat, add tea bags, cover, and steep for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, blend watermelon chunks and lime juice until smooth.
- Strain the watermelon puree into a pitcher; discard pulp.
- Remove tea bags from the saucepan and add brewed tea to the pitcher. Stir well.
- Serve over ice-filled glasses and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
