  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • For the filling: brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and softened butter
  • For the frosting: cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract
  • For decoration: black chocolate sprinkles or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  2. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  3. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter on top and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  4. Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into 12 equal pieces. Arrange in a greased baking dish and let rise again for another 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For frosting, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Once rolls cool down, frost them and decorate with chocolate sprinkles.
