Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup dry orzo
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the dry orzo and toast for about 1 minute until slightly golden.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce, beef broth, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes until orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until creamy.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
