  • 1 cup milk (regular or plant-based)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (regular or vegan)
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (regular or gluten-free)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spices
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cane sugar for coating
  • 2 tsp cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini donut hole pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, cane sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, mix pumpkin pie spices, baking powder, baking soda, and flour. Gradually combine with wet ingredients without overmixing.
  4. Fill each cavity of the donut hole pan about 3/4 full with batter.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown; check doneness with a toothpick.
  6. Allow cooling briefly before rolling in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Serve warm with maple butter dipping sauce made by whisking together maple syrup and melted butter.
