Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box white cake mix
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- Red food coloring (as needed)
- 1 cup confectioner’s sugar (for rolling)
- Large heart sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat liner.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, oil, eggs, and red food coloring until well combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then coat each ball in confectioner’s sugar until fully covered.
- Place the balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Gently press a heart sprinkle into the center of each ball.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set and the tops are crinkled.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack.
- Enjoy your delicious Valentine Crinkle Cookies!
Notes
- Chilling the dough helps prevent cookies from spreading too much.
- Roll the dough twice in powdered sugar for an extra crinkle effect.
- Don’t overbake—cookies should be slightly soft in the center when removed from the oven.
- Use gel food coloring for a vibrant red without thinning the dough.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
