  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch green beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes until bright green. Drain and submerge in ice water.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
  4. Fold blanched green beans into the mixture along with half the cheese and fried onions.
  5. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish; spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes until bubbling, then top with remaining cheese and onions.
  7. Return to oven for an additional 10 minutes or until golden brown.
