Description
This creamy and indulgent banana pudding combines layers of fresh bananas, Nilla wafers, and a rich, homemade pudding mixture for the ultimate dessert experience. Perfect for gatherings or anytime you crave a classic Southern treat.

- 2½ cups heavy whipping cream
- ¾ cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 5 oz instant banana pudding mix (dry powder)
- 1 cup milk (2% or whole)
- 11 oz Nilla Wafers
- 8 medium bananas (sliced, barely ripe)
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray; set aside.
- In a stand mixer, combine heavy whipping cream, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form (about 5–7 minutes). Transfer to a separate bowl and refrigerate.
- In the same mixer bowl, whip the softened cream cheese until fluffy (about 30 seconds). Add the sweetened condensed milk and beat until smooth.
- Mix in the banana pudding powder and slowly stream in the milk. Beat until fully combined and smooth.
- Gently fold 2/3 of the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until no streaks remain.
- In the prepared dish, layer Nilla wafers at the bottom. Top with a layer of banana slices and half of the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, crush any remaining Nilla wafers and sprinkle on top for garnish.
Notes
- Chilling Time: The dessert must chill for at least 8 hours to allow the wafers to soften and the layers to set.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Substitutions: Use Cool Whip instead of whipped cream, or shortbread cookies instead of Nilla wafers.
