Texas Firecrackers are the ultimate spicy snack! Easy to make and bursting with flavor, they’re perfect for parties, gatherings, or an everyday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box mini saltine crackers (about 56 cups)
  • ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk ranch powder
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon citric acid (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, ranch powder, nutritional yeast, red pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, and citric acid (if using).
  • Place mini saltine crackers into a gallon Ziploc bag. Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the crackers.
  • Seal the bag and gently shake it until all the crackers are evenly coated.
  • Let the crackers marinate in the bag for at least 2 hours or overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Preheat the oven to 250°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread the seasoned crackers in an even layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 20–30 minutes, tossing every 5–10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, let the crackers cool completely, and store them in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Marinate the crackers overnight for the best flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
