Instructions
For the Steaks
- Season the steaks with salt and black pepper, then let them sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Rub the steaks with Dijon mustard.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cook the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust to your desired doneness). Remove steaks and let them rest under foil. Repeat with remaining butter and steaks.
For the Bourbon Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together bourbon, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, basil, and rosemary.
- After cooking the steaks, pour the bourbon mixture into the same skillet and scrape up the browned bits.
- Cook for 2 minutes until reduced slightly, then stir in the half-and-half.
- Simmer for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the steaks to the skillet, coat with sauce, and garnish with dried parsley.
Notes
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic option, substitute bourbon with a mix of apple cider vinegar and beef broth.
- Let the steaks rest after cooking to retain their juices.
- Adjust the brown sugar for a less sweet sauce.
