- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni (optional)
- Optional: sautéed vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)
For the Crust:
- 1 egg (for egg wash) or 2 tbsp melted butter (optional for brushing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, olive oil, and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth, then let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll Out the Dough: Punch the dough down and roll it out to 1/8-inch thickness on a floured surface.
- Cut and Fill: Cut the dough into 3-inch squares. Add pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings to each square.
- Roll and Seal: Fold the squares into rolls and pinch the edges to seal.
- Bake or Air Fry: Place the rolls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash or butter. Bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes or air fry at 375°F for 10–12 minutes.
- Serve: Cool for 5 minutes and serve with dipping sauces like marinara or garlic butter.
