  • 10 ounces trottole pasta
  • 1 pound minced beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 14 ounces diced tomatoes (canned)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil and parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the trottole pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced beef, seasoning with salt and pepper; cook until browned.
  3. Remove the beef, add onions to the skillet, and sauté until translucent. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, combine with the tomato mixture, then add cooked trottole pasta. Toss to coat.
