  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)

  • Zest and juice from 1 lemon
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a mixing bowl. Add warmed milk, melted butter, egg, and lemon zest; mix until soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place in a greased bowl and let rise covered until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar with softened butter and lemon zest.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread filling evenly, then roll tightly from one edge.
  6. Cut into 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Allow to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Make glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk; drizzle over warm rolls.
