Description

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon honey (or maple syrup for vegan)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Optional Add-ins:
    • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
    • ½ vanilla bean (seeds scraped and added)
    • 23 crushed cardamom pods
    • 1 star anise
    • Pinch of nutmeg
    • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Heat the milk – In a small saucepan over low heat, add the almond milk.
  • Add the spices – Stir in the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper.
  • Simmer gently – Heat until steaming (about 10 minutes), but do not boil. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from heat – Strain if needed. Add vanilla extract and coconut oil.
  • Sweeten to taste – Stir in honey or maple syrup as desired.
  • Froth (optional) – Use a frother for a creamy finish.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
