- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2–1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust for spice level)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, celery seed, black pepper, and hot sauce. Stir well.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted and smooth.
- Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
