Description

A creamy, flavorful Garlic Shrimp Pasta recipe featuring tender shrimp, buttery garlic sauce, and parmesan cheese. Ready in just 30 minutes, this dish is perfect for weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) linguine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1 pound (450 grams) raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (40 grams) parmesan cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Boil salted water in a medium saucepan. Add linguine and cook until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and Old Bay Seasoning (if using). Cook until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt the remaining ½ tablespoon butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
    • Stir in heavy cream and deglaze the pan. Add parmesan cheese and whisk until melted. Gradually add reserved pasta water until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Combine:
    • Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
    • Add the shrimp back to the skillet and mix gently.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • If using frozen shrimp, thaw them before cooking.
  • Reserve extra pasta water to adjust the sauce’s consistency.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat over low heat with a splash of water or cream to prevent drying out.
