Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces (225 grams) linguine pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 ½ tablespoons butter (divided)
- 1 pound (450 grams) raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning (optional)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- ½ cup (40 grams) parmesan cheese, grated
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Boil salted water in a medium saucepan. Add linguine and cook until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Heat 1 tablespoon butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and Old Bay Seasoning (if using). Cook until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining ½ tablespoon butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Stir in heavy cream and deglaze the pan. Add parmesan cheese and whisk until melted. Gradually add reserved pasta water until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
- Combine:
- Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Add the shrimp back to the skillet and mix gently.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- If using frozen shrimp, thaw them before cooking.
- Reserve extra pasta water to adjust the sauce’s consistency.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat over low heat with a splash of water or cream to prevent drying out.
