Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 2½ teaspoons dried yeast
- 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- Double cream (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix well before adding melted butter until fully incorporated.
- Pour in warm milk and stir until combined. Add the egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes. Lightly oil the dough and cover it to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 2 hours).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick on a floured surface.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush melted butter onto the rolled-out dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over it.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into individual rolls.
- Place rolls in a baking dish or on baking sheets. Bake at 200 °C (400 °F) for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Immediately pour double cream over each roll after baking to create the glaze.
