Fish Tacos

Description

Discover how to make the best fish tacos with this easy guide. Enjoy fresh flavors and simple steps for a tasty meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Fish Marinade:
    • 600g of firm white fish fillets
    • Zest and juice of one lime
    • 1 tbsp of chipotle powder or a mix of smoked paprika and cumin
    • 1 tbsp of finely chopped canned jalapeños
    • 1/4 cup of finely chopped cilantro
    • 2 minced garlic cloves
    • 3 tbsp of olive oil
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinating the Fish

  1. Prepare the Marinade: Combine all marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Coat the fish fillets thoroughly with the marinade and let them sit in the refrigerator for no more than an hour to absorb the flavors.
  2. Cooking the Fish: Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the fish fillets in the skillet. Cook each side for about 2 minutes or until golden and flaky.
  3. Assembling the Tacos: Warm the tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet. Place a generous amount of fish on each tortilla, followed by your chosen toppings like cabbage slaw, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • Storing Leftovers: Store any leftover fish in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
  • Reheating: Reheat gently in a skillet to preserve the best texture. Microwaving is not recommended as it can dry out the fish.
  • Making Ahead: You can prepare the slaw and sauces ahead of time, keeping them refrigerated until needed.
