Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup water
- 8 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups tortilla chips, crushed
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup sliced black olives (optional)
- ½ cup sliced green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat and mix in taco seasoning with water; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread some beef mixture in the baking dish. Layer with one tortilla, crushed chips, half of the cheese, black beans, and remaining beef mixture.
- Repeat layering with another tortilla and top with remaining crushed chips and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before adding fresh toppings like sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and onions.
