  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Optional Add-Ins:

  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ cup crispy bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
    • Finely chop the onion.
    • Pre-cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain excess grease.
  2. Layer the Ingredients in the Slow Cooker:

    • Grease the slow cooker with cooking spray or a liner.
    • Add a layer of sliced potatoes at the bottom.
    • Sprinkle half the onions and half the ground beef over the potatoes.
    • Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a bowl, mix together cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk (or broth), Worcestershire sauce, and paprika.
    • Stir until smooth and pour evenly over the casserole layers.
  4. Cook the Casserole:

    • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
  5. Add the Cheese:

    • In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
    • Cover and let the cheese melt before serving.
  6. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Scoop onto plates or bowls and garnish with fresh parsley or green onions.
    • Serve with a side of bread, coleslaw, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, reduce the milk/broth to ¼ cup.
  • To add extra crunch, top with crispy fried onions before serving.
  • If using lean ground beef, add a tablespoon of olive oil for better texture.
