  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add shrimp, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until pink and opaque (2-3 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion for about 5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic; cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in both types of paprika; cook for 1 minute to bloom flavors.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and lemon juice. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Return shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in sauce. Heat through for another minute.
  7. Garnish with parsley before serving over rice or pasta.
