- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

- 1 cup steamed broccoli
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions.
- Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining, then set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Chicken
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add chicken to the skillet and sauté for 6–8 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Pesto Sauce
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the basil pesto and Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, if desired.
Step 4: Combine Pasta, Sauce, and Chicken
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Stir in spinach, cherry tomatoes, or broccoli, if using.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
- Optional: Drizzle with olive oil for a glossy finish.
