Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (19.8-ounce) package brownie mix
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Optional Add-Ins:

  • White chocolate chips
  • Peanut butter chips
  • Crushed nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds)
  • Caramel bits or toffee pieces
  • M&Ms or sprinkles for a colorful touch

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, flour, vegetable oil, eggs, and water.
  • Stir until just combined (don’t overmix).

Step 3: Fold in the Chocolate Chips

  • Gently fold in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips (or your preferred mix-ins).

Step 4: Drop the Dough Onto the Baking Sheet

  • Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Leave about 2 inches between each dough ball to allow for spreading.

Step 5: Bake the Cookies

  • Bake for 9 minutes or until the cookies are just set.
  • The centers may look slightly underdone, but they will firm up as they cool.

Step 6: Let the Cookies Cool

  • Remove from the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for 2 minutes.
  • Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 7: Enjoy!

  • Serve warm with a glass of milk or a scoop of ice cream for an extra treat!

Notes

  • For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake and allow them to cool on the baking sheet.
  • For thicker cookies, refrigerate the dough for 15-20 minutes before baking.
  • To make crispy cookies, flatten the dough slightly before baking and increase baking time by 1-2 minutes.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months.
