- ⅔ cup sugar + 2 tablespoons (divided)

For the Bread:
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a bread pan with parchment paper. Spray parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, mix ⅓ cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, toss chopped apples with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and ⅔ cup sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with ½ cup milk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared bread pan. Layer half of the apples and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Add the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
For the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon milk. Gradually add more milk until the glaze reaches your desired consistency.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.
