- 4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder
- Cream cheese for frosting
Instructions
- Warm the milk to about 110°F and mix in the yeast and sugar. Let it froth for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add eggs and butter, then pour in the yeast mixture. Mix until shaggy dough forms.
- Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about an hour.
- Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, roll tightly, and slice into pieces.
- Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
- For frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, heavy cream, and icing sugar until smooth.
