  • 1 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder
  • Cream cheese for frosting

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 110°F and mix in the yeast and sugar. Let it froth for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add eggs and butter, then pour in the yeast mixture. Mix until shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about an hour.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, roll tightly, and slice into pieces.
  6. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  8. For frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, heavy cream, and icing sugar until smooth.
