Description

Indulge in these creamy, decadent Chocolate Lovers Cool Whip Candy! With a fluffy chocolate filling and a rich dark chocolate coating, this easy no-bake recipe is perfect for parties, gifts, or holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 22 ounces milk chocolate morsels (2 packages, 11 oz. each)
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip (1 container, thawed)
  • 24 ounces Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers

Instructions

  1. Melt Milk Chocolate:
    • Place milk chocolate morsels in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute on high power, stir, and microwave in 30-second intervals until melted and smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature (15–20 minutes).
  2. Prepare the Candy Base:
    • In a large glass bowl, gently fold together the cooled melted milk chocolate and room-temperature Cool Whip until fully combined.
  3. Freeze and Shape:
    • Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and pour in the chocolate mixture. Smooth the top and freeze for 30 minutes.
    • Remove from the freezer, cut into 36 squares, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Return to the freezer for 30 minutes.
  4. Melt Dark Chocolate:
    • Melt the Ghirardelli dark chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl at half power or on the defrost setting for 30 seconds. Stir, then continue microwaving in 15-second intervals until smooth.
  5. Dip Candy Squares:
    • Dip each frozen candy square into the melted dark chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off, then place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Set and Store:
    • Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature or in the freezer. Store candies in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Always let the melted chocolate cool before mixing with Cool Whip to maintain a fluffy texture.
  • These candies are best served cold straight from the freezer.
  • For traditional round truffles, shape the candy base into balls before freezing and dipping.
