Cajun Seasoning Blend:

  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
  • ½ tsp. thyme leaves
  • ¼ tsp. ground oregano

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it with cooking spray.

Step 2: Prepare the Shrimp

  • If using frozen shrimp, thaw them under cold running water.
  • Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 3: Coat the Shrimp with Oil

  • Place shrimp in a large mixing bowl.
  • Drizzle 1 tbsp. of canola oil over the shrimp and toss to coat evenly.

Step 4: Mix and Apply Cajun Seasoning

  • In a small bowl, combine:
    • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
    • 1 tbsp. onion powder
    • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
    • 1 ½ tsp. salt
    • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
    • ½ tsp. thyme leaves
    • ¼ tsp. ground oregano
  • Stir the seasoning blend until well combined.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the shrimp and toss until evenly coated.

Step 5: Arrange and Bake

  • Spread the shrimp in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, flipping the shrimp halfway through for even cooking.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the cayenne pepper to 1 teaspoon.
  • For a milder version, reduce cayenne to ¼ teaspoon.
  • Air Fryer Alternative: Cook at 375°F for 6-8 minutes, shaking halfway.
  • Stovetop Alternative: Sauté shrimp in a pan with olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side.
