Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups diced apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  2. Gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and cover; let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  3. Meanwhile, mix diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle (16×24 inches) and spread softened butter over it.
  5. Sprinkle the apple mixture evenly on top, roll into a log shape, seal the seam, and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place rolls cut side up in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
