  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup (30 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter, diced
  • ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the dough by mixing warm milk with yeast and sugar; let it foam. Combine flour and salt in another bowl. Add yeast mixture, egg, and butter; knead until smooth. Cover and let rise until doubled (1 to 1½ hours).
  2. For the apple topping, melt butter in a pan; add diced apples with brown sugar and spices. Cook until softened; set aside.
